This month we spend five minutes with ATTAIN’s Managing Director and resident break dancer, Danny Parker:
Tell us about your role at ATTAIN
My role in the business as Managing Director covers all aspects of the ATTAIN world – from securing new business, delivering presentations and seminars to production scheduling with our Customer Service Manager Jackie Salt, as well as financial management. As a creative by trade I always like to be as involved as I can with our creative work.
What brought you to the ATTAIN world? And when?
Well, I have been with ATTAIN pretty much from the start – 18 years ago. The company was 8 months old and I joined the business as Creative Director. Since then, things have changed massively as the world of tech and creativity have become one, and ATTAIN has developed to reflect this. What initially brought me to the ATTAIN world was the opportunity to work with big brands and to have complete creative freedom – 18 years on and this is still the case.
What’s your favourite aspect of the role?
Delivering for clients and watching the work we do deliver a great return on investment. There’s no better feeling than creating a campaign from an initial concept through to creative and technical delivery and watching that campaign deliver results for our clients. 2018 is going to be a great year for ATTAIN and results-driven insights are going to play a big part in how we deliver stronger more effective campaigns.
What’s the best thing about working in Wigan?
Having lived in Wigan all of my adult life, played rugby here for 20 years and studied here I feel very fortunate to be working in Wigan. It’s a place close to my heart for many reasons and it’s great to be able to work with like-minded people from the borough – and also to showcase the skillsets of Wiganers across the UK through our work with national clients.
Tell us something about yourself which surprises people
I am a keen golfer and gym-goer (when I get the time) – I am also known to occasionally bust into breakdancing on nights out!
Tell us something about an ATTAIN colleague which people might not know
Designer Rob Blair, who is very quiet in the office, has a tendency for thrash metal music!
What’s your key digital marketing advice for new ATTAIN clients?
For me the key advice is in whatever you do to market your business, the first thing is look at the end goal- and know and understand your customers. The marketing landscape is changing so quickly and there are so many tools out there to help you understand your audience so use them, learn from them and benefit from them.
