An ATTAIN client, along with two members of the ATTAIN team, will be running a total of 420km throughout February to raise funds for a local cause.
Lisa McAllister of Lines Henry, a client of ATTAIN, and Commercial Manager Jackie Salt and Technical Manager Stuart Gent are running 5km each a day – braving the frost and snow to reach their target of raising £500 for Wigan Armed Forces HQ.
The charity is a one–stop centre providing advice and guidance for Armed Forces Serving Personnel, veterans and their families within Wigan borough regarding health and wellbeing, welfare, education, housing, employment and social inclusion.
Jackie said: “It’s great to join forces with our client Lisa McAllister and raise funds for this vital cause.
“As local people ourselves, we want to make sure nobody is left behind by circumstances that are often out of their control. The charity Wigan Armed Forces HQ is providing vital services for the Armed Forces Community across the borough and surrounding areas, and we want to do what we can to help raise funds and support their work.”
Lisa said: “This cause is close to our hearts – and to be able to focus on this fundraising target during lockdown has given us a real sense of purpose.
“We’ve been motivating each other on the frosty mornings – and keeping the incredible cause in mind to keep motivated!”
The team are nearly 50% towards their target. You can show your support by donating here.
